Mike started selling term life insurance through a distributor which used the concept "Buy term and invest the difference." This concept was good but it didn't cover everyone's needs, and it was only part time.

In January 1998, after praying for an opportunity to better himself, God answered with an opportunity to add cancer insurance. This was the beginning of a full-time career which God has used to richly bless everyone Mike came into contact with, including his family.

Mike paid his dues working for an agency based in northern KY for several years, traveling throughout KY & TN seemingly day and night going door to door. It was a very rewarding, educating, and exhausting experience.

It was always Mike's dream to have an agency of his own. At the end of 2007 into the beginning of 2008, with the help of God and a big leap of faith, he realized the first step of this dream. He was presented with an opportunity to contract with multiple companies. The name Bennett Insurance Group came into the picture at this time.

The business was moved from inside the home to an actual storefront office located at 4295 Burkesville Rd, Columbia, KY — the next big step for Bennett Insurance Group.
